How we pick what goes on the Featured shelf

A look at how new music actually gets surfaced on Heard That — no algorithmic black box.

One of the most common questions we get is simple: how does a song end up on Heard That's Featured row? The honest answer is that a real person listens to it.

Every new release gets a full listen from our music team before it's considered for Featured placement. We're looking for songs that hold up on a second and third listen — the whole point of this platform.

We also rotate the Featured shelf weekly, so newer artists get real visibility instead of getting buried under whatever's already popular. It's slower than an algorithm. We think it's worth it.
